Brutte notizie per gli utenti Ubuntu che non vedevano l'ora di mettere le mani su Ubuntu Core Desktop, l'edizione di Ubuntu Desktop completamente basata su Snap. Stando a quanto dichiarato Tim Holmes-Mitra di Canonical, Ubuntu Core Desktop non sarà rilasciato insieme a Ubuntu 24.04 LTS ad aprile, come inizialmente sperato.
[Ubuntu Core Desktop] It won’t be released by 24.04, and unfortunately, I can’t provide a date until we’ve worked through issues that need resolution – we want the user experience to be excellent and that’s going to take time. Thankfully the work we’re doing in Core Desktop in many instances benefits classic/hybrid even though the linkage might not be immediately apparent.

Il rilascio è stato rimandato a data da destinarsi, sino a quando non verranno risolti alcuni problemi emersi nello sviluppo. Gli sviluppatori di Ubuntu voglio che l'esperienza utente sia eccellente e questo richiederà tempo.
