Microsoft ha confermato che le build di test per la versione di Edge basata su Chromium saranno rilasciate con un installer dedicato. Questo significa che potremo testare Edge basato su Chromium anche su build stabili di Windows e non sarà dunque necessario installare una build Windows Insider.
La conferma è arrivata tramite reddit da parte di Kyle Alden, Senior Program Manager for Edge, che rispondendo ad un utente ha detto:
We’re working on getting preview builds out as soon as possible - “early 2019” is still the idea, but we want to make sure the first preview is a great experience, so we’re not quite ready to commit to something more specific than that just yet. Stay tuned!
We can't commit to specific timing just yet, but we do plan to make this available as a separate download, so you can install whether or not you're configured for Windows Insider builds.
Non ci resta dunque che aspettare il rilascio della prima preview che dovrebbe arrivare, se tutto va bene, nella prima parte del 2019.
