Come ben saprete Valve ha deciso di regalare a tutti gli sviluppatori Debian la possibilità di installare gratuitamente tutti i giochi passati presenti e futuri presenti su Steam (alcuni hanno anche finto di esser sviluppatori Debian pur di avere i giochi).
Bene, a quanto pare Valve ha deciso di compiere una ulteriore operazione simpatia e di estendere questo beneficio anche agli sviluppatori Ubuntu. Ebbene si, stando a quanto si legge nella mailing list da poco pubblicata:
Hi all, As I'm sure most will be aware, for the last couple of weeks, Valve have offered access to all Valve produced games free of charge to Debian Developers [0]. As of today, they have kindly extended this to all registered Ubuntu Developers [1]. Collabora is administering the distribution of keys so to request your key, please email Jo Shields <jo.shields at collabora.co.uk> with a PGP signed email requesting it. If you don't hear back in a couple of days or so, you can then email me directly <neil.mcgovern at collabora.com> as I'll provide cover for Jo when he's not on holiday. Happy gaming! anche gli sviluppatori Ubuntu potranno richiedere a Collabora (la società che si occupa di gestire questa procedura per conto di Valve) di avere accesso al catalogo Steam.
